Evidence Based
In 2011, Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapy (QCH) initiated a pioneering research project to evaluate the effectiveness of its approach in treating anxiety and depression. A team of QCH therapists worked with clients who were assessed using the same outcome measures employed by the NHS to evaluate talking therapies. The pilot study, published in the Mental Health Review Journal in 2015, analysed 118 cases and found that 71% of clients considered themselves recovered after an average of four sessions. This compared with an average recovery rate of 42% for other therapeutic approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), using the same criteria.
