Preparation for birth
As a mother of four, I understand exactly how overwhelming the thought of giving birth can feel. Every pregnancy brings excitement, but also uncertainty and fear of the unknown. My own experiences taught me that birth doesn’t have to be something to dread—it can be calm and empowering. Through hypnobirthing, I discovered how relaxation, knowledge, and mindset can completely transform the experience. Now, I’m passionate about sharing these techniques with others, helping parents-to-be replace fear with confidence and approach birth feeling calm, informed, and truly in control.
Discover Confidence and Calm in Birth.
Creating a Positive Birth Experience for All.
Bringing your baby into the world should be an empowering and positive experience. Hypnobirthing helps you approach birth with confidence, calm, and trust in your body’s natural abilities. Using proven relaxation, breathing, and hypnotherapy techniques, you’ll learn how to release fear, reduce tension, and create the best possible environment for birth—wherever and however it happens. Our comprehensive antenatal course supports both you and your birth partner with knowledge, tools, and confidence to make informed choices, stay relaxed, and enjoy a more positive birth journey from pregnancy through to your baby’s arrival.
Hypnobirthing is much more than just breathing and relaxation—it’s a complete approach to understanding your body, your mind, and the process of birth. You’ll discover how your body naturally works during pregnancy and labour, and you’ll gain all the information you need to make confident, informed decisions that are right for you and your baby.
How Does Hypnobirthing Work?
Education
You’ll learn how the mind and body work together during birth. Understanding the physiology of labour helps you see how relaxation supports your body’s natural processes and creates a calmer, more comfortable birth experience.
Release Your Fears
It’s easy to absorb negative birth stories, even when you’re excited about meeting your baby. I teach you powerful techniques to let go of fear and replace it with confidence and trust in your body’s ability to birth naturally.
Understanding Your Choices
Birth involves many options, from place of birth and interventions to induction and pain relief. I’ll help you understand how the maternity system works and explore every option so you can make the decisions that are right for you and your baby. You’ll leave feeling informed, confident, and in control, never saying, “If only I had known.”
Your Partner’s Role
A well-informed birth partner can transform your experience. The Katherine Graves Method that I follow ensures your partner feels confident, supported, and ready to play an active, empowering role in the birthing room.
Practice
The key to success lies in simple, consistent practice, just 10 to 15 minutes a day. I provide all the tools and guidance you need to reframe your mindset, develop relaxation habits, and build a positive outlook for birth

The Five Cs of Hypnobirthing
Confidence – Feeling assured helps your body work as nature intended.
Control – With clear knowledge, you can guide your birth experience.
Choice – A sense of control allows you to make decisions that feel right for you and your baby.
Calm – Staying relaxed enables your mind and body to work in harmony.
Comfort – When everything flows smoothly, birth can be efficient, gentle, and deeply empowering.
How long is the hypnobirth preparation.
I work individually with couples over four sessions and each session lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours.
When should I start the hypnobirthing prepatation?
You’re welcome to begin hypnobirthing sessions whenever it suits you, starting earlier simply gives you more time to practise. Many begin during the second trimester, as it offers a comfortable window to build skills and confidence. That said, I’ve also worked with parents just before birth, and the techniques were still incredibly helpful. It truly is never too late to benefit from hypnobirthing.
Who should attend the sessions with me? Can I come alone?
Birth partners aren’t required to attend, but most are very glad when they do. Many arrive unsure or sceptical and leave genuinely impressed by how much sense it all makes. You don’t need to “believe” anything; simply being open to the information helps you understand the vital role a birth companion can play.
A hypnobirthing partner becomes well-informed, calm, and a real source of strength during labour. Many mothers later say they couldn’t have managed without that support. Practising together beforehand also strengthens their connection and gives partners a meaningful role in how their baby enters the world, deepening their relationship and their bond with their child.
If a close friend or family member will be supporting you in the birth room, they’re welcome to join the course alongside, or instead of, your partner at no extra cost. (This doesn’t apply to birth professionals such as doulas.)
Plenty of women also attend on their own—whether due to work commitments, single parenthood, childcare difficulties, or simply preference. KG Hypnobirthing is just as effective, and you’ll be warmly welcomed. If your partner can’t attend, you’re free to bring your mum, a friend, or whoever will be with you on the day.
